Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, organization, and execution of various recreational and therapeutic activities designed to enhance the well-being of our clients/residents. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, recreational programming, and fostering a positive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of a variety of activities and programs, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, music therapy, and special events.
- Engage with clients/residents to assess their interests and needs, ensuring that activities are tailored to encourage participation and enjoyment.
- Set up and clean up activity spaces, ensuring they are safe and welcoming for all participants.
- Support individuals during activities by providing encouragement, assistance, and supervision as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment required for activities and report any shortages or needs to the Activities Coordinator.
- Document participation and provide feedback on activities to help improve future programming.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to client care and community engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations during activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education in recreation, social work, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a recreational, activities, or caregiving role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working with people.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt activities to different needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to assist clients with mobility as needed.
- Capability to lift and move supplies or equipment up to 25lbs
- Ability to actively participate in various physical activities.
